About Us
Our History
The early days of Pur Natural Skincare saw us tailor making organic skincare
preparations for professional spa and beauty practitioners keen to provide
a natural alternative for their increasingly discerning clients. Our expertise
particularly with our organic formulations led to us working closely with
some of the country's leading spas and salons for whom we developed countless
bespoke preparations.
Today we are still preparing these professional formulations but we've also developed an entire range for use at home.
Our Legacy
Being based on the beautiful green fringes of the Brecon Beacons National
Park should probably provide us with all the inspiration that we need
when creating our organic formulations.
But this stunningly wild landscape offers more than inspiration to us. It also provides us with a legacy and larder of plant and herbal expertise that stretches back over 8 centuries to the famous Celtic physicians of 'the Myddfai'.
It was these pioneers who, in garnering the abundant beneficial herbs distinct to this region, transformed Wales into one of the most important medicinal centres of the ancient world.
Today we harvest our ingredients and knowledge not just from these local herbs and legacies but from the finest and most actively beneficial sources on the planet.
Our Promise
Pur (pronounced 'peer') is the Welsh word for pure and its use commits
us to a promise of uncompromising quality and purity not just to our customers
but also to our natural environment.
Our exclusive use of nature's purest organic cleansers, most vibrant moisturisers, and most potent renewal extracts helps to ensure that our customer promise is kept.
Our environmental promise means that we hand something back to Mother Nature and our policy of selecting only the purest sustainable ingredients is step one in this process.
Our Policy on Animal
Testing
All skin care and make-up products made by Touch Therapeutics
Ltd (manufacturers of Pur Natural Skin Care, and Pur Babies) are tested
on willing human participants, and animals are never used at any stage
of research, development or production. As such we adhere strictly to
a fixed cut off for animal testing of any product or ingredient used in
our products. This means that we also seek assurances from our suppliers
of raw materials that the products they sell to us have not been tested
on animals. Clarification should be made that we do not action nor condone
either now or historically an adherence to "the 5 year rolling rule"
which we believe makes a mockery of corporate commitment preventing the
use of animals for testing cosmetic products.
Ingredients that are produced by animals or insects naturally, such as beeswax, are used only if the harvest of such products does not harm the animal or insect and is part of a renewable supply from the same animals which produced them.
